The first stretch is a steady downhill along highway 74. Runners will start on Pioneer trail and head clockwise around the meadow. This 5K/10K race leads runners throughout the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park.
Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trailhead. While ascending approximately 1,500 feet, runners will peak at a total elevation of 9,000 feet as they cover this 13.1 mile course.
